Laminate Stone Flooring

hard wood, linoleum, laminate or stone? What’s the best floor to handle dirt?

We have sooo much dirt all the time. I just can’t keep up with it. I keep threatening to rip out all carpet in the house and lay down something easier to clean but my hubby says the dirt would grind out grooves in the wood so what are our best, longest lasting options?

We have a concrete foundation, a rock fireplace and cedar trim inside our home.

As far as dirt is concerned, I would probably say stone. I also think it is the strongest of them all. I believe linoleum and lamite can start looking a bit worn easily and fast if you don’t take good care of them. Hard wood I personally love, but it is something you do have to love, in the sense that you have to take good care of it to preserve its beauty. Stone… well, it is stone! Some people mentioned tiles. My father has worked in tiles for a lifetime, and they can provide you with everything and anything you might dream of. Italy (where I come from) historically is the home country of tiles, and Spain follows closely. In these countries, you can find a range of some thousands different types of tiles, one of the latest products is tiles that mimic hard wood… and they look like it. From a distance, you are not able to tell the difference. But because of this variety, tiles can also range from extremely easy to mantain to nightmare-ish maintenance (believe me, thanks to my father, I have tried both!)
