Laminate Underlayment


Do you have to use underlayment floor liner when installing laminate flooring on top of concrete.?

I am taking out the carpet and putting in a inexpensive laminate flooring on my main level. I was reasearching the differnet floors and it says must use the floor liner with these click/lock floors.
I have helped others out installing before and they never used it. Does anyone have any advice.. I want to do whatever I should do but also would like to save money.

use it. it’s also a moisture barrier.
