yes, exactly, the stuff science tables are covered with. It’s seems resistant to everything: scratches, heat, acids, bases, etc.

probably a special order. all the laminate companies (wilsonart, formica, nevamar, etc) have chemical resistant laminate now. You can order that from a cabinet or countertop shop. Home depot might even order it for you. It’ll do a pretty good job. I haven’t seen a science lab with a laminate top in a while, but they would have to use the chemical resistant ones. for example, Wilsonart calls theirs “Chemsurf.” It is probably not available in all colors and it’ll take longer and be more expensive to get than regular laminate. I order laminates at work for cabinets and countertops.
Oh right and you’ll need a strong sprayable contact adhesive. Need a rough surface- you don’t need to prep a particle board/mdf, you may need to prep plywood, you definitely need to sand a coated surface. Spray both back of lamiante and surface, let tack up per specs on the glue, adhere, use either fists or a strong roller to force out air bubble and get good adhesion. Be careful of the edges- laminate is a lot sharper than you’d think. That’s about it.
