Hi my name is Rob,

The End Result After Laying My Laminate Flooring

I made this page to tell you about how I transformed my home by laying laminate flooring, with out any hassle. I’m not exactly an expert carpenter but laying my own laminate floor was actually easy and most importantly saved me over $1,000.

Now that I’ve installed my own laminate flooring without hiring a professional, all my friends and family are asking how in the world I did it. I figured it would be a lot easier to share my story on this page and show everyone how I installed my own laminate flooring. Learn how I did it.

I’ve been hearing a lot of nagging lately from my wife about getting new laminate floors installed in our home, but after calling around to all the local businesses for a few weeks, I came to the conclusion that the installation was just too damn expensive!

I Used This Guide To Install My Laminate Floors

Our floors are old and worn out, and trust me I understand her concern, but we’re talking about thousands of dollars here…. We just didn’t have that kind of money to be spending.

After months of hearing the same story over and again, I decided to do a little research online and see if there was any way to install the laminate floors myself (and hopefully save some cash). So I surfed around the Internet and found tons of people selling laying laminate flooring guides and videos.

Long story short, I ended up wasting money on a few different laminate flooring installation guides, until I found this really cool course called “Installing Laminate Flooring”. Not only did the guide include a step by step detailed walk through of the process, but it also came with videos that were much higher quality than the ones on YouTube.

After I gave in and purchased “Installing Laminate Flooring”, everything else was easy. I just sat back and watched a few videos, and before I knew it I was already starting to install my own laminate flooring! I called my buddy up and told him how easy it was to install my new floors using this guide and apparently it worked for him too. I truly believe that my wife would still be nagging me daily about the floors if I didn’t find this guide. That’s why I wrote this page.

You can get more information about the specifics at: http://www.taylorscustomflooring.com/laminate-video/

There site will explain it a lot better than I could, so I’m not even going to bother trying.

I hope this helps you! (it sure helped me)

How can I repair the scratches on my laminate floor?

I have some large scratches on my laminate floor caused by furniture being dragged across it. Is there any way to repair these as they are very conspicuous. Alternatively, can I darken the flooring as it’s a light colour and the scratches wouldn’t look so bad on darker flooring.
Many thanks.

Please do not try to sand or refinish your floor. You can’t sand or refinish a laminate floor because it is not real wood. If you visit the source referenced below, you will find lots of information about caring for laminate flooring.

I have to agree with some of the other suggestions – you will have to replace those damaged boards. If the scratches are in an area where an area rug can be placed, I would suggest doing that.

Laminate flooring is scratch resistant, not scratch proof. To help reduce scratches, use floor protectors on the feet of furniture and always pick up furniture to move it, never drag. Unfortunately as you know, it will damage the floor. Sorry for not delivering better news.
